The Christmas season is marked by celebration, joy, excitement, wonder and awe. But keep in mind that for many, the season is also one of worry, stress, and disappointment. The long-promised Messiah has arrived, but everything about his arrival is unexpected. His lowly and humble birth reveals the promise of God in the midst of its worldly opposites.

Christmas "Prayer of the Church" in Song
This half-page insert features Prayers of the Church for Christmas sung to the tune of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen." It was written by Pastor Cathy Ammlung, STS, who has made it available for use by congregations at no charge. You may want to use it throughout the days of Christmas.
Christmas Eve Family Service Script
This Christmas Eve service program script was written by Pastor Craig Nehring and Kathy Malueg. It combines lessons, carols, and sermon reflections based on Scripture texts from Matthew 1 and Luke 2. It was intended to be led by adults and children of the congregation and would serve well for a Christmas Eve family service. Since the sermon reflections are included within the script itself, it would also be appropriate for use as a lay-led service or as the basis for a children's program.
